Servicing:

We continue to service equipment we have put in over the last 20+ years for our loyal customers. This includes domestic, light commercial gas and oil, together with LPG and warm air. We also maintain heat pumps that we have installed.

We now offer servicing of equipment we haven’t put in, in most cases; this will exclude heat pumps not installed by us.

Repairs:

We can carry out out heating related repairs on most Natural Gas, LPG, Warm Air, and Oil fired equipment.

We also have a lot of experience with controls, zoning etc, especially Honeywell (aka Resideo) Evohome.

Design and Consultancy:

Some larger domestic property owners find it difficult to obtain advice on heating system replacement, or existing problems that seemingly can’t be fixed. There is an apparent skills gap between a modest house and a hotel, where the job isn’t big enough to attract a qualified mechanical engineer, but is beyond the scope of your average man in a van.

Customers obtain multiple quotes and then find that advice given can be totally contradictory.

A small part of my work and design experience is detailed in this blog, so you can either copy it, or engage me to look at your problem. I can advise you and Hotter Homes can install it (see below).

Installation work:

We have handed over our installation interests to Hotter Homes Ltd, of Oxted, Surrey.

From 2024 all installation work will be by Hotter Homes, in the safe hands of Simon and Dan. They have been established for 15 years, are just nearby, and are known for their quality of work and customer service, in other words, a perfect transition.

I will continue to liaise with Hotter Homes Ltd, moving forward. We will share our experience and knowledge, working collaboratively on certain projects where beneficial.

Our Company:

Hot Water & Central Heating Ltd remain the same firm, same directors, same address; we’ve just decided to take a less stressful path now we’re a bit older.

We still get excited by the latest innovations and can still design flue systems down chimneys and multiple zone energy efficient heating systems. But I don’t want to shift 250kg boilers anymore, or write quotations long into the night.

We’ve bought a new Ford E-Transit and stealthily hum around the countryside of Kent, Surrey and parts of London, in the same way your milk was delivered 40 years ago. We don’t travel outside a 30 mile radius of Edenbridge, so the milk float idea works quite well.

Just goes to show, electric traction, like heat pumps, demonstrate there is nothing really new out there, whatever politicians might suggest.
